Sarah Neufeld. 

My name is Sara Neufeld. I am the owner/operator of Ray of Sun Drum Circles. I have been facilitating drum circles since 2009 and have completed my Level II Integrated Community Drum Circle Facilitator training in 2017 with Circles of Rhythm in Calgary, Alberta.

I hold a Master of Educational Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in music and music education and minoring in Spanish.

My teaching career began in 2005 following practicum experiences in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Lethbridge, Alberta. I have taught the music program at a French Immersion Elementary School since 2005.

Growing up I was intrigued by learning to play musical instruments, learning languages (French and Spanish) and travelling to areas of Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, and Europe where I could put to use my language skills.
When I was 16 years old I participated in a language exchange program between Alberta and Québec where I lived for 3 months with a French speaking family to improve my French. Now I look for opportunities to practice speaking both French and Spanish in my city and with my international friends.

My mission is to share with as many people around the world the joy of music and creating wonderful rhythms together. I was blessed with the gift of the drum and it has helped to heal my traumas and bring me clarity, and serenity during my daily life. Through drumming with others and guiding others through various activities and exercises I experience Joy every day. I wish to share this Joy with all who cross my path.

I met Sara through my work with Immigration Services while advocating for New Canadian Youth in the Education System.
I remember Sara being always very kind and friendly, welcoming me with a greeting in Spanish.
She took the opportunity to practice her Spanish and at the same time made me feel welcome with that gesture. Then we met through holistic classes and drumming circles and again had that connection of friendship that is found in a tribe that makes you feel like you belong. We have kept connected throughout the years through social media and it is now my pleasure to have Sara as part of Reikisimo’s Team. You can now register in advance or sign your name in the waiting list for her classes .
In the meantime you can also practice both English and Spanish by reading our current project Les Miserables in the Book Club 

Conocí a Sara a través de mi trabajo en los Servicios de Inmigración mientras abogaba por la Nueva Juventud Canadiense en el Sistema Educativo. Recuerdo que Sara siempre fue muy amable y simpática, dándome la bienvenida con un saludo en español. Aprovechó para practicar su español y al mismo tiempo me hizo sentir bienvenida con ese gesto. Luego nos conocimos a través de clases holísticas y círculos de percusión y nuevamente tuvimos esa conexión de amistad que se encuentra en una tribu que te hace sentir que perteneces. Nos hemos mantenido conectadas a través de los años por medio de las redes sociales y ahora es un placer tener a Sara como parte del equipo de Reikisimo. Ahora pueden registrarse con anticipación o firmar su nombre en la lista de espera para sus clases.
